He began to wonder what would happen if he was less meek and more powerful。 He began to see that there would be positive results such as making new friends。 He decided to go and see the lion himself。 On his journey he learned that "if you want things to change, you first have to change YOU。" He finally found himself nose to nose with the mighty lion and asked the lion to teach him how to roar。 Do you know what happened? The lion was afraid of the mouse。 The lion doesn't like mice。 He's scared of him! The mouse eases the lion's fear by telling him that he only wants to be friends。 They began to learn from each other-one how to be more brave; the other learned how to not be so serious。 "That day they both learned that, no matter your size, we all have a mouse and a lion inside。Note: These characters don't have names besides "lion" and "mouse"。 A wonderful story to have a discussion on bravery, not judging what other people are like unless you actually meet them。 This will be important for shy students and starting a discussion on taking more initiative。 。。。more

I have been wanting to read this book for a while now, and I finally sat down and read it today, and it not only met my expectations but went above them。 I adore Rachel Bright's writing from start to finish every book of hers I read。 This one carries an especially important message, no matter how small or insignificant we may feel, we all have a lion inside us, and we all can be brave and achieve what we want to achieve。 I have been wanting to read this book for a while now, and I finally sat down and read it today, and it not only met my expectations but went above them。 I adore Rachel Bright's writing from start to finish every book of hers I read。 This one carries an especially important message, no matter how small or insignificant we may feel, we all have a lion inside us, and we all can be brave and achieve what we want to achieve。 。。。more

I really loved this book! As good if not better then The Koala Who Could。 The book really captures the idea that whilst you don't have to shout to be heard, you're as big as you feel and how all of us have a little bit of mouse and lion in us。 The book has really extensive and rich vocabulary as well as illustrations that really help to convey the idea of feeling big and little。 A lovely text that I would thoroughly recommend to read。 I really loved this book! I love Rachel Bright’s stories and this is another firm favourite。 The Lion Inside is the perfect book for any young child who is lacking a little bit of confidence and needs help finding their roar。 As little mouse learns, we all have a little bit of mouse and a little bit of lion inside of us。Mouse lives a hard life and is tired of being ignored and sat on by the other jungle animals。 Lion on the other hand is the king of the jungle who is respected by all the animals and usually finds himself I love Rachel Bright’s stories and this is another firm favourite。 The Lion Inside is the perfect book for any young child who is lacking a little bit of confidence and needs help finding their roar。 As little mouse learns, we all have a little bit of mouse and a little bit of lion inside of us。Mouse lives a hard life and is tired of being ignored and sat on by the other jungle animals。 Lion on the other hand is the king of the jungle who is respected by all the animals and usually finds himself as the centre of attention。 Fed up of living in lion’s shadow and being beneath lion both metaphorically and literally (mouse lives in a space below the rock where lion sleeps) mouse sets out to change his ways and comes up with an idea that he thinks is the perfect solution to his problem。 But when mouse ventures off to see lion he is in for one very big surprise…Mouse is desperate to be like lion but finds out that he doesn’t need to be like lion at all, he just needs to find his own voice and have self-belief。 There are delightful messages on finding courage, being brave, taking risks (mouse faces the prospect of being lion’s dinner) and chasing your dreams。 And also that friendship comes in the most unlikeliest forms。The story is told in delightful rhyming prose and as expected, the artwork by Jim Field is delightful and full of warmth and charm。A lovely story with a wonderful moral…find the confidence within yourself。 Even those lacking confidence can find the self-belief hidden deep within them。 You don’t need to be the size of a lion, you just need to have the heart of one。Recommended for 4+。 。。。more

A book about a timid mouse who tries to change himself to fit in with the rest of the animals。 It teaches children that big or small, we all have a voice inside of us and we all matter。

wordpress。com/201。。。 wordpress。com/201。。。 。。。more

Where do I begin? I never thought a children’s book would one day be listed among my favourites, but this particular one struck a chord with me on so many levels。 So here I am, writing my first book review。。。To me, a good children’s book is one that excels at these 3 criteria: Illustration, Writing and Narrative。 The Lion inside by Rachel Bright, in my opinion, has more than checked the boxes for them。 Illustration: Most books do fairly well here, and indeed there’s honestly not much of a standout in this book in terms of artistry。 What this book deserves praise for is the way it was able to convey the right levels of emotions, drama and comedy to the reader, through simple yet appealing artwork。 I guess the best validation is how my daughter would always unfailingly burst into laughter and amusement at the lion carrying the hippopotamus or when it went “EEEEEK!”。 Writing: This is where I start to have minor gripes with some of the other children’s books。 Even at the intended ages of reading, sentences of said books can be rather awkward and unnatural to read, prompting the storyteller to improvise on the spot。 Transition between pages (or even sentences on the same page) may not be smooth as well, often leading the parents to wonder if they missed a paragraph。 Hence, when I first read The Lion Inside, it was quite refreshing。 The rhyming patterns coupled with simple words and short sentences made the book read like smooth poetry。 At times, it can even function as a catchy rap (someone already did a rendition on Youtube)。 As a parent, sometimes it can really feel like a godsent to have a book that practically reads itself。 Narrative: This book talks about a mouse, who had enough of feeling small and powerless, and his journey to seek change through courage。 While the primary messaging is Daring to Change ("If you want things to change, you first have to change you"), the book was also layered with a few more secondary lessons, like how things that appear intimidating may not actually be the case upon taking the leap of faith。 All in all, this was an adorable and motivational read。 Even as an adult, some of the meaningful quotes found in this book really resonated with me。 “It was time to be strong, take a chance 。。。 after all,Forever was such a long timeto feel small。” 。。。more

This is a lovely book with fabulous illustrations。 It tells a story all about a little mouse who wants to find his ‘ROAR’。 The key messages here are to always believe in yourself, no matter how hard it may seem and to not judge a book by its cover。 A great book with lots to talk about。

Oh my what a delightful book! This is a nice book; story is simple enough, but made more charming by the rhyming which I always appreciate in kids' books。 The illustrations are pretty, though they are in a style that I don't really like - those exaggerated proportions that remind me a bit of the 3d cartoons like Madagascar 。 I had this read to me by Liam Payne on Youtube ( https://www。youtube。com/watch?v=L8uzH。。。 )。 This is a nice book; story is simple enough, but made more charming by the rhyming which I always appreciate in kids' books。 The illustrations are pretty, though they are in a style that I don't really like - those exaggerated proportions that remind me a bit of the 3d cartoons like Madagascar 。 I had this read to me by Liam Payne on Youtube ( https://www。youtube。com/watch?v=L8uzH。。。 )。 。。。more
